Hey everyone! I’m so sorry I have been MIA lately!
I was away for a week, then dove right back into work the day after I got home, and finally, Wednesday, popped back into academia with the first day of the fall semester. How’s that for a loaded week?
I hope everyone is enjoying the last few weeks of summer. Mine ended on a gorgeous note, with a fun-filled, photo-filled boat ride in Long Island Sound.
Anthony’s dad finally got to put the boat in the water towards the end of this month. With that squared away, a few of their relatives coming down, and a bit of cloudless blue sky made for a fantastic Sunday Funday summer send off. I’ll post some of the pictures from that day next time around.
As far as the first day of school, not so many pictures to post, but regardless, it was a pretty great day. I don’t normally talk this way about academic life, so, this says something, folks.
I’m taking another Art History class (Zzzz…), Two-dimensional Design, and Graphic Design I.
2D was pretty good, I have the same teacher as last semester for 3D, and while I didn’t overly love her my first few weeks of last semester, by the end of it all, I loved being in her class, and was happy to see her at the beginning of class. Later in the day was my very first graphic design class. I have played around with Photoshop, and kinda-sorta dabbled with Illustrator, but let me tell you — the capabilities of those programs, man oh man. I was sitting there practically wetting my pants with excitement at what you can do. And the teacher was barely scratching the surface with an introduction. Crazy! Needless to say, I can’t wait to start getting into that work.
I hope this interest and motivation sticks around! That will make for an easy breezy semester, which will thus make for a nice, smooth sail into the holiday season… aka, my reason for being.. ha 😉
Good luck to all new and returning students! I hope the beginning of the year is as good for you as it has been for me! 🙂
