For those who don’t know, I’m a photographer. I first discovered my love for photography when I was about eight, got my first camera and became a hobbyist at 16, and I’ve been doing it for other people when the mood strikes me for going on five years this spring. πΎ
You’d never know it here at this dusty ol’ blog because I’m usually too busy bitching about nothing or inhaling The Bachelor. ππΌ
Speaking of, though, for real, I have just one thought.
If Peter picks Victoria F. then
THEY D E S E R V E EACH OTHER
& each other’s BS.

ANYWAY. About two weeks ago (or maybe it’s three now..? my brain is jello) I got my hair done for the first time in a year. And even that time, it was just the cut & blow dry. If we’re talking coloring? I haven’t done that since before we even left Wisconsin. I would say somewhere late 2016 — early 2017, as we were trying for babes. So yeah, it’s been a long time without helping my natural hair color look a little less dishwatery dull.

I don’t know what’s going on with the ONE random large crimped chunk, it’s a whole hot mess, even Lincoln is like “next time, please clean it up before taking a picture with me.”

But, possibly thinking, “I’m so happy my mommy is a photographer!” and not at all “please send help”
Thankfully, during my holiday mini sessions this past Christmas, I met a friend of a friend who happens to be an amazing hair dresser. She recently reached out wanting photos of her son for his second birthday. After we discussed pricing but before I could cave like I always do and offer to do them for free because I am weak and bad at taking money, she asked me if I would be interested in a trade– my photography services for a hair appointment.
Not wanting to appear too eager, I waited an entire 15 seconds before answering “YES I WILL ALWAYS WORK FOR HAIR APPOINTMENTS” in a completely calm & professional text message.
Let me tell you. I’m going to trade photography for services more often. In fact, that may be my official package: “30 minute session for, I don’t know, give me something.”
Seriously though, it felt so nice to have a day at the salon– but even better when I walked out without paying a dime. πMore please.
I finished editing their session yesterday, and I’m just dying at how cute both it and her son were, and thought I’d share a couple of the images here.

How precious is this tiny little guy? I guarantee you he’s even cuter from the front, but since he’s not my kid I feel a little weird posting his face all over my blog without first reaching out and asking mom if I can, well, post her son’s face all over my blog.
So just trust me on this one. π
If this feels like a hyper, annoyingly pointless, stream of conscious fluff post, it totally is.
Not only am I coming down from a caffeine high, but I also had like seven or eight Hershey Kisses at my MIL’s house and maybe four handfuls of chocolate chips that I meant to bake into cookies but didn’t because shoving fistfuls into my mouth seemed healthier at the time.
That, and it had been a while since I last posted something, and the only thing really going on in my life right now is a kind of-sort of date night scheduled a week from tomorrow. Otherwise it’s laundry and burning dinner for this undomestic. Sorry to disappoint. πI’m going to go drink some water now.
Wished you lived closer to me, these are great photos, although I do not have anything to trade ππ
